My son was diagnosed with minimal verbal autism and sensory processing disorder. He is very motivated to attend his lessons at Rides and Reins. It is his fun activity. The lessons are calming for him and helped with his verbal skills, posture and core muscles. The volunteers understand him and his needs. He is also learning to follow directions.

Our daughter was diagnosed with Pachygyria, a rare congenital brain defect. She is thirty-four and has been attending Rides & Reins lessons for the past five years. She did attend therapy lessons as a teen. Now she attends because she really loves the horses and gets excited to ride Ralph and Rony. She enjoys the volunteers and the atmosphere, it makes her happy and content. Her dad is a volunteer and feeds the horses in the morning.

My son attended Rides and Reins for the first time in 2021. He has autism and the therapy lessons are very calming for him. They help him grow as an individual by building a bond with the horses and communicating with adults. His communication skills and confidence also grew along with learning patience.
